The Employment Act 1955 - Termination of Employment

The Employment Act 1955 is the fundamental employment legislation in Malaysia prescribing the statutory minimum standards of terms and conditions of employment. The Act enshrines the rights of both the employees and employers, and the obligations or responsibilities they are obliged to fulfill to have the legal protection. 

Like most jurisdictions that regulate the relationship between employer and employee, Malaysian employment law addresses issues relating to termination of employment.

This seminar is designed with an insight into the provisions of the Employment Act 1955, and to ensure the proper application of the provisions under the said Act and to address the different categories of termination which exists and its application.

Program Objectives

By attending this seminar, the participants will be able to understand and apply the relevant provisions of the Act correctly.  This seminar will ensure that the participants will be able to identify both the rights and obligations and responsibilities of the employers and employees. This will ensure better human resources management in companies to ensure a more conducive and productive working environment.

Further, this seminar will also guide participants on the correct application of the categories of termination to secure their rights under the Malaysian law.
